Basic Astrology: Align with Magic

“To understand astrology is to understand the divine order of the Universe”

Everybody, even the least spiritual person on the planet, is familiar with the concept of astrology, zodiac signs, or the horoscope. People have been consulting their horoscopes in newspapers for decades after all. We all have heard the cheesy pickup line “What’s your sign?” But most of us don’t truly understand the concept of astrology or how the stars influence our lives.

People have pondered the mysteries of the Universe for centuries. Tracking the sun’s illuminating motion, the moon’s enchanting cycle, and the collection of stars in the night sky, the study of astrology is expansive and complex. It is one of the most ancient and powerful sciences, and encompasses physics, astronomy, psychology, spirituality, geometry, math, and numbers.

There is an abundance of information we can learn from astrology, but the most fundamental principle is the 12 zodiac signs. These signs over time have developed their own characteristics and associations to animals, colors, and myths. Every sign is unique and represents different approach to life, with powerful strengths and frustrating weaknesses.

Horoscope:

A horoscope is just an astrological diagram that is representative of the positions of the Sun, Moon, Planets, the astrological aspects, and angles at the time of a given event, such as your birth. It is derived from the Greek words ōra and scopos meaning “time” and “observer”

Sun Sign:

A person’s “sign” is determined by the Sun’s position on their birthday. The Sun describes someone’s overall personality and is representative of the ego. Sun signs affect one’s goals and the approach a person takes to accomplish them. The Sun is also masculine, ruling the physical body, ego, confidence, leadership, and energy.

Moon Sign:

Moon signs are calculated by the Moon’s position at the time of birth. The Moon explains how we express emotions and our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and desires. It represents our emotional needs and reactions. The Moon is also feminine ruling the mind and intellect. It is also associated with vulnerability and intuition.

Rising/Ascendant Sign:

To know this sign, you must be aware of your time of birth because it is the sign that is rising on the eastern horizon during that time. Our Rising/Ascendant Sign is the “first impression” sign, and is how you appear to others and the world around you.
